Job Summary
Legal Assistant at a full-service law firm supporting litigation and corporate practices. Responsibilities include providing administrative and legal support to attorneys, preparing, revising, proofreading, and formatting correspondence, pleadings, agreements, discovery materials, and contracts; assisting with state and federal court filings; managing attorney calendars, scheduling meetings and depositions, and coordinating travel; maintaining client communications and matter files; handling document production, discovery management, and closing binders; coordinating transactional and administrative processes including wire transfers and document execution; tracking project status and assisting with workflow management; and supporting various practice group initiatives and billing/expense tracking. Requirements include an Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) and 3+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department, familiarity with court filing procedures and legal terminology, strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with document management and e-discovery tools preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus
- 3+ years of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or legal department environment
- Experience supporting litigation, corporate, transactional, or business law practices is preferred
- Familiarity with court filing procedures, legal terminology, and document preparation standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proofreading abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience with document management systems and legal technology platforms
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and document review platforms is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and client service excellence
