Job Summary
Analyze legal questions from internal and external sources to formulate proper responses and assist attorneys with all legal matters, including litigation, document preparation, and production. Direct incoming issues via phone and email to attorneys within the department. Maintain a basic understanding of internal banking procedures, banking law, estate and guardianship matters, real estate law, trust law, corporate governance, and bankruptcy law. Communicate effectively with attorneys, judges, and other professionals in a fast-paced environment while utilizing a multi-line phone system. Requires an associate's degree or high school diploma with two years of legal experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in general studies
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years' work experience in legal or related fields
- Basic understanding of internal banking procedures
- Basic understanding of banking law
- Basic understanding of estate and guardianship matters
- Basic understanding of real estate law
- Basic understanding of trust law
- Basic understanding of corporate governance
- Basic understanding of bankruptcy law
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Word
- Intermediate level experience using Adobe
- Intermediate level experience using Excel
- Ability to work with attorneys, judges, and other professionals in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- Experience using a multi-line phone system
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to use computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation
- Ability to view computer screens
