Legal Assistant I - Operational Support

Job Summary
Conduct court filings, motions to substitute plaintiff and counsel, and manage e-filing receipts and outgoing mailings. Update internal and external client systems, sort and digitally file legal documentation, and complete assigned work queue items within designated timeframes. Review incoming documents, disperse them to appropriate parties, and communicate professionally via phone, email, and messaging systems. Grasp basic legal concepts to produce accurate work product for financial institutions in creditor rights matters. Complete assigned trainings in the Firm LMS and adhere to firm policies while maintaining high attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a technology driven environment
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods
- Ability to work on computers for a significant portion of the day
- Ability to perform repetitive movements as required for positions (Typing, clicking, swiveling)
- Ability to multi-task
- Skilled at accurate data entry
- Strong ability to adhere to basic instructions, job aids and procedures
- Ability to adhere to Firm policy and apply policy requirements while processing assigned work
- Strong time-management skills
- Self-driven with ability to work independently or collaboratively, as needed
- Commitment to providing exceptional, responsive, and time-bound service
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and computer savvy
- Grasp and retain basic legal concepts and terminology that impact ability to produce accurate work product
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
