Job Summary
Draft, review, and vet contracts, memoranda of understanding, and other legal agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Monitor ongoing litigation matters, liaise with external advocates, and prepare legal reports and case summaries. Maintain legal registers, statutory records, and governance documentation; support corporate governance activities and board committee preparations. Conduct legal research to provide opinions on employment, commercial, and operational matters, and assist in reviewing company policies for compliance. Identify and escalate regulatory risks within required timelines and coordinate the filing of legal documentation. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Law and minimum three years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in a legal or corporate environment
- Sound knowledge of Kenyan commercial law, employment law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
- Strong legal drafting, contract review, and legal research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
