Job Summary
Calendar court dates, filing deadlines, and case milestones while preparing pleadings, motions, complaints, and notices for state and federal court filings. Assist attorneys with propounding and responding to written discovery, maintaining accurate electronic case files, and supporting trial preparation projects. Communicate professionally with clients, experts, courts, and opposing counsel throughout complex Wage & Hour Class Action and PAGA litigation. Manage high-volume caseloads with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, paperless environment. Two years of legal assistant experience with employment law firms is required, including familiarity with California employment law and e-filing procedures. Trial preparation experience is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of Legal Assistant experience with an employment law firm
- Experience supporting Wage & Hour Class Action and PAGA matters
- Working knowledge of California employment law, court rules, and e-filing procedures
- Familiarity with state and federal court filings
- Strong calendaring, organizational, and case-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume, paperless environment
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
Desired Qualifications
- Trial preparation experience strongly preferred
