Job Summary
Legal Assistant to support the Dispute Resolution & Advocacy practice group in the London, Ontario office (Hybrid). Primary responsibilities include answering calls, scheduling meetings, conflict checks, client communications, drafting and sending correspondence, compiling and filing motion records and court documents, maintaining calendars and BF system, preparing client invoices, and file/document management (scanning, uploading into DMS, secure file transfer). Requires 3+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, litigation experience is a plus, and proficiency with civil procedure rules and tech tools in a hybrid remote environment. Strong client service, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both in a team and independently are essential. Knowledge of ACL, Case Center, JSO, RelativityOne, iManage, and/or OneDrive is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- Experience in litigation is an asset
- Familiarity with The Rules of Civil Procedure, particularly service rules and deadlines
- Strong commitment to high quality client service
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a team and individually
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with technology and working in a remote/hybrid environment
- Experience with ACL, Case Center, Justice Services Online (JSO) portal, RelativityOne, iManage, and/or OneDrive an asset
