Job Summary
Litigation Assistant responsibilities include drafting, proofreading, and finalizing pleadings and discovery; coordinating state, federal, and bankruptcy court filings; managing attorney calendars; preparing binders for hearings, depositions, and trials; supporting client engagement and conflict checks; entering and managing timekeeping and billing; processing attorney expense reports; and maintaining strict confidentiality of firm and client matters.Required skills include strong MS Word and Outlook proficiency, familiarity with NYSCEF/ECF/PACER, and experience with NetDocs, CompuLaw, Best Authority, and Adobe Acrobat Pro/DC; plus excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and organizational abilities. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience in a mid- to large-size law firm
- Strong proficiency in MS Word (including styles, TOC/TOA, redlining, and formatting), Outlook, and basic Excel/PowerPoint
- Familiarity with NYSCEF and ECF/PACER e-filing systems
