Job Summary
Manage assigned attorneys' calendars, dockets, and deadlines with high accuracy while performing e-filing in state and federal courts and administrative agencies like the EEOC and NLRB. Coordinate litigation matters including document management and filings, screen client calls and correspondence, and draft complex legal documents and reports. Maintain attorney billing processes, manipulate spreadsheet data, and organize client files in document management systems to ensure record accuracy. Anticipate attorney needs to proactively manage workflow and provide backup support to other legal assistants. Requires 3+ years of experience in Employment Law and Commercial Litigation; offers competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and profit sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
- High level of professionalism in all interactions with attorneys, clients, and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work and consistently meet deadlines
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate needs
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork and mutual support
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential client and firm information
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (document formatting, styles, tables of contents)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of supporting Employment Law and Commercial Litigation practices
- Demonstrated experience supporting litigation matters in a deadline-driven environment; exposure to discovery, filings, and trial preparation
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments)
- Experience with billing systems
- Familiarity with Nuance or similar PDF editing tools
- Bachelor's degree
