Job Summary
Legal Assistant for the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to support Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys and maintain crucial legal documents. Responsibilities include processing and maintaining criminal restitution records, communicating with victims, law enforcement, and outside partners, managing and filing legal documents (including DWI cases and Department of Revenue files), monitoring court notifications, updating case files, coordinating with prosecutors, assisting with redactions and docket schedules, providing back-up support for the front desk, and upholding confidentiality. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication skills, and comfort with computers, office equipment, and legal management systems; ability to multi-task and work in a busy legal environment. 0-2 years of clerical or legal office experience is preferred but not required.
