Job Summary
Legal Assistant needed to support attorneys in civil litigation at a large firm. Responsibilities include managing calendars and deadlines for attorneys, entering attorney time into the billing system, supporting Paralegal team, handling client and vendor communications, organizing and drafting client and case documents, proofreading and updating legal documents, light office tasks (scanning, filing, copying), scheduling client meetings, maintaining client relationships, coordinating with legal parties for billing and scheduling, handling client record requests, and organizing deposition and trial binders. Ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, strong written and oral communication, proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, with exposure to civil litigation preferred
- Some college or associate degree preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with file share applications and other industry tools preferred
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Punctual with excellent attendance record
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
