Job Summary
In-person, full-time Legal Assistant for civil litigation. Responsibilities include calendaring & deadlines, drafting pleadings, preparing/e-filing documents, data entry in firm database, maintaining client and court communications, and other tasks as assigned. Requires high school diploma (associate/bachelor’s preferred), 2+ years’ experience, strong typing (50+ wpm), MS Office (Word) & Adobe PDF, knowledge of federal/state electronic filing, and ability to work independently. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- Typing speed greater than 50 wpm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, and Adobe PDF
- Knowledge of federal and state electronic filing requirements
- Ability to analyze information and address work-related issues
- Great communication skills (spelling, grammar, email, phone etiquette)
- Able to work independently and multi-task
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Criminal background check, drug test, and conflict-of-interest check
- Maintain daily tasks to move claims and cases towards resolution
- Prepare required correspondence, pleadings, and related documents
- Maintain account confidentiality
