Legal Assistant- Affidavits

Job Summary

Review case files to ensure readiness for affidavit preparation and request judgment figures through client systems. Determine, obtain, and review supporting documentation such as payment histories and loan records based on jurisdictional requirements. Redact personally identifiable information (PII) in compliance with privacy laws and firm policies. Prepare and draft legal affidavits, including Affidavits of Indebtedness, Loss Mitigation Affidavits, Statements of Review, and Certificates of Business Records, ensuring adherence to client directives and court requirements. Utilize quality control checklists to submit documents for peer review prior to execution and file. Monitor workflow queues, maintain accurate case status updates, upload completed affidavits to client portals, and track documents through execution. Respond professionally to client inquiries and escalate issues when appropriate. Meet or exceed established monthly productivity and accuracy goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of legal document preparation and filing procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • Professional demeanor with a strong focus on confidentiality and client service
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Visual ability to review legal documents and electronic records
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, video conferencing, and in-person interactions
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, and copiers
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or office materials
  • Ability to move throughout an office environment as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in foreclosure, mortgage servicing, creditor rights, collections, or real estate litigation
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems such as: Perfect Practice, ICE, Tempo, ADR
