Job Summary
Legal and Compliance Officer who will provide legal support to the Claims Team, Recoveries, Liability and Litigation Team; contribute to improving OMSIC policy wordings to reduce invalid claims; review compliance and quality assurance with applicable legislation, regulations and circulars; sign-off on OMSIC Standard Operating Procedures; manage risk and monitor KPIs; and collaborate with stakeholders to embed a culture of compliance across OMSIC.
Required Qualifications
- Namibian citizenship
- LLB degree
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
- 4 – 6 years of experience in a legal environment
- Experience and good understanding in compliance, risk and/or quality assurance as it relates to the short-term insurance industry would be an advantage
- Detail-oriented and quality oriented
- Computer literacy and good numeric skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- High energy levels and be a team player
- Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication with a passion for customer service and relationship building
- Able to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders
