Job Summary

Coordinate appointments, outreach activities, and day-to-day office operations for clients accessing Legal Aid NSW services in Walgett and surrounding communities. Provide high-quality administrative, clerical, and legal support to solicitors and legal staff, ensuring timely and professional assistance while managing competing priorities and maintaining accuracy under pressure. Build rapport with diverse client groups and local stakeholders to help navigate complex legal and non-legal challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing roles) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary roles)
  • Undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check

  • An understanding of, or willingness to develop, cultural capability when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse client groups will be highly regarded
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and respond to sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism and respect
  • You can effectively manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy under pressure and adapt to changing demands
  • As a collaborative team member, you value supporting your colleagues and contributing to a positive workplace culture
