Job Summary
Provide ongoing services to individuals needing assistance in Criminal Court, Integrated Domestic Violence Court, and Family Court. Deliver supportive counseling, transportation, advocacy, safety planning, safe housing, child care, and assistance filing court petitions and compensation claims with the Office of Victim Services. Update program records, adhere to confidentiality requirements, and participate in back-up coverage for the hotline during non-business hours. Conduct community outreach and events while communicating agency philosophy. Work Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm with evening/weekend/holiday on-call as needed. Requires a valid NYS driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently within a 24-hour service framework.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NYS driver's license acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier required
- Reliable transportation for travel required
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to bend
- Ability to squat repetitively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of working a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour service
- Some evenings/weekends/holidays for on-call as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Experience in/knowledge of Domestic Violence program/support services preferred
