Job Summary
Legal Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of secretarial duties for attorneys, maintain client communications, and manage document preparation and filing across multiple courts. Responsibilities include creating, editing, formatting, and proofreading documents; preparing shell pleadings and discovery; creating and formatting Tables of Contents/Authorities; handling court filings and e-filing requirements; organizing case files and calendars; coordinating travel and meetings; processing bills and invoices; preparing conflicts submissions and new matters; and ensuring accurate entry of attorney time. Requires strong MS Office skills, familiarity with legal terminology, ability to learn local court rules, ability to work with limited supervision, and a high level of confidentiality and professional communication.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately three to five years on the job general litigation experience
- High school or equivalent
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Advanced-level working knowledge of MS Office
- Strong proofreading/editing abilities for routine law office correspondence and legal matters
- Ability to learn multiple jurisdiction court e-filing requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to differing and individual administrative tasks across practice areas
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients/contacts
