Job Summary
Legacy Software Developer responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Speedware 4GL applications in UNIX environments to support healthcare and revenue cycle operations. Responsibilities include analyzing, designing, and implementing improvements to legacy systems (billing, claims processing, and reimbursement workflows); writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code in small teams; troubleshooting production issues and documenting solutions; debugging and optimizing performance of healthcare financial systems; collaborating with Analysts, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Systems Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions; participating in Agile delivery; supporting or leading client implementations including onboarding and go-live; owning assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery and quality; developing and maintaining interfaces and integrations (EDI 837/835); supporting system modernization and migration initiatives; conducting peer code reviews; providing Tier 3 production support; maintaining technical and process documentation; ensuring HIPAA and data security compliance; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of programming experience
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred
- Experience in healthcare billing, claims, or revenue cycle systems is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
