Job Summary
Develop, deliver, and assess clinical biochemistry units for the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine, including BMS323 and BMS423, while coordinating related teaching activities across introductory and postgraduate levels. Lead the development of a research program in clinical biochemistry, fostering industry linkages with local diagnostic pathology sectors to enhance student experiences and research partnerships. Contribute to professional accreditation activities and engage with professional bodies to support the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine. This role supports the School of Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences at Murdoch University, offering a position within a team dedicated to advancing life sciences research and teaching.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in one or more areas of diagnostic clinical biochemistry and/or related areas such as endocrinology and/or toxicology
- Previous experience in the development, design, coordination, and delivery of undergraduate units in clinical biochemistry at the tertiary level
- An established or developing track record of research outputs in clinical biochemistry and/or related fields
- An ability to teach into another area of Laboratory Medicine, such as clinical immunology, clinical haematology, or related fields
- Current member, or have eligibility to be a member, of the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS), Australasian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (AACB), or related professional body
