Job Summary
Teach four classes per academic year across fall, spring, and summer semesters while preparing lectures, delivering content, and holding office hours. Manage curriculum development by updating lesson materials, reviewing syllabi, and coordinating faculty hiring and training. Oversee academic support programs including classroom scheduling, grade submission, and student registration. Lead program initiatives such as organizing faculty orientations, chaperoning excursions, and developing career development activities for students. Assist with timetabling, recruitment planning, and maintaining records of grades and attendance. Respond to faculty and student queries regarding academic policies, conduct, and course issues. Collaborate with leadership teams to foster an inclusive learning environment and support the academic mission of NYU London.
Required Qualifications
- Educated to PhD level, or equivalent, in an appropriate field
- Relevant teaching experience, particularly teaching American undergraduates
- Prior experience mentoring faculty
- Experience in coordinating or overseeing administrative projects in a university setting
- Strong organisational ability and keen attention to detail
- Be willing to work on his/her own initiative with little supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and comfort working with both students and faculty
- Be enthusiastic, pro-active and committed, and enjoy working in a small team
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent written & oral skills
- Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work and live in the UK prior to appointment
