Job Summary

The successful candidate will teach, coordinate and lead courses in Language and Literacy Education across undergraduate and postgraduate teacher-education programs, align courses with accreditation standards, develop and lead a research agenda in language and literacy, supervise HDR students, collaborate with schools and community groups, and contribute to service activities while promoting safe working practices.

Required Qualifications

  • A Doctoral qualification relevant to knowledge about Language and Literacy Education.
  • Demonstrated skills/knowledge/experience relevant to Language and Literacy Education, its role in becoming literate within and beyond educational settings, and resources that support literacy proficiencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate quality language and literacy teaching in teacher education programs at the university level.
  • Knowledge of current trends and key issues relevant to research and practice in Language and Literacy Education.
  • A record of research activity, collaborations and outputs relative to opportunity related to Language and Literacy Education.
  • Experience teaching in the primary and/or secondary school sector.
  • Demonstrated support of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and support for implementing the AITSL Standards and Procedures for the accreditation of initial teacher education programs.
