Job Summary
Conduct teaching and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while supervising postgraduate students and developing high-quality research with scholarly and societal impact. Deliver 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service within a full-time permanent position at the University of Auckland. Contribute to course leadership, academic service, and relationships across the wider education community.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in Social Studies or a closely related discipline
- Experience teaching and leading Social Studies and related subjects, such as History or Classics, at secondary school level
- Experience teaching Social Studies education at the tertiary level
- A proven record of high-quality research and publications, with demonstrable scholarly and societal impact
- Experience teaching or undertaking research in culturally and/or linguistically diverse communities
- Strong communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Current New Zealand teacher registration
- Familiarity with national curriculum and education policy
- Knowledge of evidence-informed approaches such as culturally responsive, inclusive or digital pedagogies
