Job Summary
Lecturer in Nursing (non-tenure track, 9-month academic year) at the University of Maine to teach in the undergraduate BSN program. Responsible for a 24-credit annual workload (12 credits per semester) including undergraduate didactic, clinical, or lab courses as needed, and serving on school, university, and public committees. Requires a Master of Science in Nursing, current RN licensure or eligibility for Maine licensure, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated teaching expertise and strong communication skills. Teaching responsibilities may span didactic and clinical/lab courses and contribute to program curricula and student learning within a mission-driven public university setting.
Required Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current licensure as an RN, or eligibility for Maine licensure by date of hire
- Commitment to teaching, professional development, and service
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Documented expertise in his or her area(s) of teaching responsibility
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
