Job Summary
Plan and deliver high-quality Floristry teaching and learning, including schemes of work and curriculum documentation. Develop assessments, mark work, and provide constructive feedback while supervising practical workshops and work placements. Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progress using the College's virtual learning environment. Support learner welfare, attendance, and behavior, referring students to appropriate services when required. Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and external partnerships, including open events and employer engagement. Maintain professional expertise through CPD and training.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum relevant Level 3 vocational qualification
- A PGCE, Certificate of Education or equivalent teaching qualification
- A qualification in Maths and English at Levels 4–9 (GCSE Grades A–C) or equivalent
- A proven track record of successful teaching across a range of levels, including up to Level 3
- Recent industry-related experience relevant to the academic discipline
- Detailed knowledge of relevant subject matter, examination and assessment requirements
- Experience of developing external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning
- Ability to provide clear, direct and constructive written and verbal feedback
- Ability to inspire, motivate and raise learners' aspirations through high-quality teaching
- Competent use of technology to support learning, assessment and independent learning
- Ability to maintain a disciplined learning environment with high expectations of learners
- High expectations of yourself and others
- Takes responsibility for work activities and personal actions and delivers on commitments
- Innovative and able to respond positively to changing circumstances
- Builds positive relationships based on mutual trust, candour and respect
