Job Summary
Lecturer in Information Systems / Digital Business responsible for research-led teaching and supervision at Newcastle University Business School. The role covers teaching on digital transformation and emerging technologies (including AI), publishing in internationally recognised journals, pursuing external research funding, and developing and delivering programmes. The candidate will supervise postgraduate researchers, contribute to curriculum development and assessment, mentor students, and engage with external stakeholders to ensure impactful, real-world outcomes. The appointment requires a strong research trajectory or potential in Information Systems / Digital Business, with a PhD and a record of or potential for international publication, teaching excellence, and contribution to the School’s strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in digital business or information systems management
- Lecturer Grade F or G criteria as described (research-led teaching, international publishing, capability to secure funding)
- HE teaching qualification or equivalent desirable (Grade F) and completed PhD (Grade G)
- Demonstrated ability to supervise PGR and undergraduate/taught postgraduate students
- Experience designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials
- Ability to engage with external stakeholders and contribute to institutional strategic goals
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and sustainability
- A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
