Job Summary
Conduct postgraduate teaching, supervise Master's and doctoral research students, and contribute to curriculum development within the postgraduate Counsellor Education Programme. Develop an active research profile and build strong relationships with the counselling profession and wider communities. Maintain a workload split of 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service in a full-time position. This role supports the education of future counselling professionals through a programme combining theory, research, and supervised practice, situated within the School of Education and Social Practice at the University of Auckland.
Required Qualifications
- A completed doctorate
- relevant counselling qualifications
- professional counselling experience
- Membership of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors or a comparable professional counselling organisation
- Experience teaching and/or supervising at postgraduate level
- ability to contribute to high-quality curriculum delivery and development
- An active or developing research profile
- demonstrated potential for continued research productivity
- Strong knowledge of integrative counselling practice
- knowledge of professional supervision
- an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for professional practice
