Job Summary
Teach a course load equivalent to nine courses per academic year across fall, winter, and spring quarters. Conduct all assigned class meetings, assign and grade assignments and exams, and hold weekly office hours on campus. Submit student grades to the registrar by designated deadlines and conduct course assessments as required. Supervise student projects only if necessary and fulfill other instructional, academic, or service activities such as department meetings. Start date is September 1, 2026, with an open application deadline. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, and demonstrate effective university-level teaching aligned with the Santa Clara teaching-scholar model.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Master's degree with relevant experience in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field
- demonstrated evidence of effective university-level teaching
- understanding of the Santa Clara teaching-scholar model
- expertise in at least two areas of: data structures, assembly languages, logic design, algorithms, embedded systems, computer architecture, operating systems, programming languages, compilers, software engineering, database, parallel programming, machine learning, and other topics in computer science and engineering
- ability to provide evidence of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States
