Job Summary
Deliver high-quality teaching across Education, English Language, and Communication programmes while preparing classes and facilitating learning in accordance with approved curricula. Maintain accurate student records, monitor progress, and provide guidance on academic performance, career development, and discipline. Contribute to curriculum planning, programme development, and continuous improvement of teaching practices. Participate actively in assessment, marking, moderation, and other academic activities as assigned. Support module delivery by coordinating with colleagues and ensuring appropriate resources are available. Respond to student needs, obtain feedback, and take action to improve academic service quality. Engage in research activities, scholarly publications, and initiatives that strengthen the University's research profile. Participate in departmental meetings, group discussions, and collaborative initiatives while adhering to the University's Quality Policy and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in English Language, Communication Studies and Education
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant teaching experience
- Relevant experience in teaching, student guidance, curriculum delivery, assessment and academic support
- Deep academic knowledge and expertise in English Language, Communication Studies and Education
- Strong pedagogical and effective teaching skills
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience and emotional intelligence when working with diverse students
- Strong analytical, creative and problem-solving skills
- Good time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic academic environment
- Ability to lead, support and manage diverse groups of students effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to research and continuous professional development
