Job Summary
Teaching-focused Lecturer role in Archaeology responsible for delivering ARCS2011: Lithic Analysis: Current and Future Directions for Research and Heritage Management. Coordinate courses, develop and deliver lectures and tutorials, assess and mark students, mentor and academically counsel undergraduates and postgraduates, and contribute to the collegial life of the School. Requires a PhD in Archaeology and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online teaching using platforms like Blackboard. Based at St Lucia campus in Brisbane, with a 0.40 FTE fixed-term appointment, engaging in citizenship and service, thesis marking as relevant, and alignment with University teaching rules. Applicants must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment and will be subject to pre-employment checks.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Archaeology
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Ability to teach online and use platforms such as Blackboard
- Capacity to coordinate courses, develop and deliver lectures and tutorials, assess and mark students
- Mentor students and provide academic counselling
- Engage in citizenship and service within the School
- Commitment to flexible teaching approaches and collegial collaboration
