Job Summary
Deliver ANDM modules and lead live online sessions for BCom in Accounting students, including after-hours synchronous classes and one-on-one consultations. Manage assessment setting, marking, and administration while developing and maintaining course materials. Collaborate with colleagues on programme reviews and engage with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance. Foster an inclusive learning environment covering management accounting, financial management, and digital skills. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- NQF level 8 qualification (Honours or Postgraduate Diploma) in the subject area of professional accounting from a recognised university
- Demonstrated expertise in relevant areas, with sufficient experience that intersects with accounting/management accounting and financial management principles
- Proficiency in basic and advanced Microsoft Excel functions and formulae, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and report on data
- Previous experience teaching at the undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and assessment outcomes
- A collaborative and collegial approach to working with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self motivation and organisational skills
- An industrious and gregarious attitude with the ability to learn, solve problems, innovate and complete tasks without close supervision
- Emotional intelligence with an aptitude and desire to build relationships
- Registration or eligibility to register with a professional body, CA(SA)/CIMA designation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with an online learning platform
- Previous experience teaching at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, preferably in a professional or vocational context
- Practical exposure to accounting and programming software and other relevant information technology
- A passion for developing students through genuine care
- Applicants with a relevant honours degree or postgraduate diploma (NQF 8) in the subject area
