Job Summary
Perform conscious sedation/MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases, manage patient airways, and oversee emergence and recovery. Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments, obtain informed consent, and administer medications and fluids. Manage emergency situations using cardiac life support techniques and discharge patients from the post-anesthesia care area. Develop standards for continuity of care and collaborate with medical staff to lead quality initiatives. Adhere to American Association of Nurse Anesthetists rules and regulations at local, state, and federal levels. Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality and ensure compliance with all information security practices. Work Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, as needed, with at least two years of independent experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor
- Successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor
- At least two years of independent experience
- ACLS/BLS/PALS certification
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient's family and other employees of organization
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment
- General computer literacy skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, as needed
