Job Summary
Manage all leaves of absence for attorneys and Business Services Professionals, including FMLA, parental, and disability-related leave. Enter and update leave data in Workday, coordinate with Payroll for payment and government offsets, and generate reports for management. Track return-to-work dates, maintain documentation and correspondence, and research evolving federal, state, and local leave laws. Assist the supervisor with the interactive process for accommodations and respond to employee inquiries while ensuring Firm compliance. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive employee matters.
Required Qualifications
- Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
- Knowledge and proficiency in leave laws, FMLA in particular, and ability to stay abreast of new and evolving leave legislation
- Delivers timely and accurate work products, and responds with a sense of urgency
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Workday, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates close attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three years of related HR or leave administration experience
