Job Summary
Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board approved curriculum, focusing on Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies in a self-contained classroom. Manage students demonstrating emotional and behavioral challenges while maintaining a positive learning environment and complying with the NJ FIRST Act. Utilize proficiency in Google Suite, IEP software, and the Student Information System to support instruction. This 10-month contract begins September 2026 at MacAfee Road Elementary School, with compensation ranging from $68,023 to $99,380 based on the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: K-6 Elementary Certificate and Teacher of Students with Disabilities OR Teacher of the Handicapped
- Must have experience with students who demonstrate emotional, and behavioral challenges, as well as some learning differences
- Strong teaching skills
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
- Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System
