Job Summary
Review employee leave requests and assess eligibility based on submitted documentation from employees and medical providers. Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and disability benefits. Administer leave programs in compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Minnesota Paid Leave. Manage the full lifecycle of leave cases, coordinate return-to-work processes, and maintain accurate case information using designated case-management systems. Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking information on leave programs and benefits, while coordinating with third-party vendors to review status changes. Support the county's annual open enrollment and provide guidance to employees on employee and retiree benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a closely related field
- Six years or more (2,080 annual hours) of job-related experience in leaves administration or a closely related field
- Experience in public-sector leaves administration
- Experience with AbsenceSoft leave management system
- Experience with Workday HRIS
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers
- Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness
- Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds
- Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs
- Successfully passing a pre-employment criminal/driving background check, drug screen and DOT physical, and/or other qualifications checks
