Job Summary
Greet and engage prospective and current residents through in-person, phone, and electronic channels while conducting community tours to showcase apartments and amenities. Process rental applications, lease renewals, and related documentation accurately; assist with move-in and recertification files to maintain program compliance with HUD, Section 8, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit regulations. Respond to resident questions, concerns, and service requests promptly; support retention efforts through outstanding customer service and community engagement. Maintain organized resident files and leasing documentation; inspect community appearance and coordinate with maintenance staff. Assist with marketing initiatives and outreach to support occupancy goals while ensuring Fair Housing compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years in tax credit or affordable housing experience
- HUD rules and regulations, as well as policies and procedures of low-income housing programs
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- current automobile insurance
- reliable transportation
- Previous experience in leasing or a related field preferred
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to build rapport, overcome objections, and effectively close leases
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Basic math and financial comprehension skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- college degree
- Experience with Yardi, ResMan, On-Site, or other property management software
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
