Job Summary
Highlight the community, answer questions, and guide residents to view apartments while responding to rental interest in-person and via digital platforms. Present new rental offers and lease renewals, then physically inspect units prior to move-in, at move-out, and throughout vacancies to report maintenance needs. Prepare background checks including reference letters and income verification, properly execute lease terms, and address resident-related issues as a front-line community expert. Maintain awareness of local market conditions and complete reports, move-out inventories, and market surveys. Work a 40-hour flexible week with required weekends, reporting to a supervisor for additional duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance
- 40-hour flexible work week
- Weekly schedule - Weekends are required
- Passing a background check
- Passing a drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- One-year experience and/or training in sales, apartment leasing, property management, real estate, or a related field
- Bilingual language skills (i.e., Spanish)
- Ability to communicate over the telephone and in-person with prospects, residents, vendors, corporate and resident staff, etc.
- People skills for developing personal connections with prospective renters, keeping current renters happy and reducing turnover
- Communication, including verbal and written skills, including: Ability to function effectively in a sales/marketing and customer service environment
- Ability to answer questions and address concerns in a professional manner
- Ability to read and write short correspondence and memos
- Ability to compute rates, discounts, and bonuses
- Ability to translate financial and legal real estate terminology into common language
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct both detailed written and oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving few variables in standardized situations
- Attention to detail for managing all aspects of lease terms, including conflict resolution, move-in procedures, and financial transactions
- Basic computer, internet and typing skills
