Leasing Assistant

Job Summary

Conduct showings of vacant units and answer prospect inquiries to communicate property features and amenities. Process applications for eligibility status with the Community Manager, coordinate lease paperwork for move-ins and move-outs, and address resident concerns and maintenance requests. Greet walk-in traffic during open hours, maintain resident files in compliance with fair housing laws, and report accident or emergency situations. Market properties using current tools and trends to attract potential prospects while managing vendor relationships. Maintain accurate documentation of resident correspondence and ensure all property descriptions remain up to date.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge and experience in office or clerical setting
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS outlook, word and excel)
  • Maintain valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Flexibility with working hours and availability for later hours or Saturdays as needed
  • Ability to prioritize and possess efficient time management skills
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal-oriented and team player
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance and interactions with others
  • Ability to lift to but not limited to 25 pounds unassisted and as needed
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and as needed
  • Must also be able to travel to all trainings and meetings arranged through the Corporate office periodically throughout the year

Desired Qualifications

  • Leasing or property management experience
  • Experience with Project-Based Section 8 and Section 42 (LIHTC) programs
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
