Job Summary

Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of Cunningham's Learning & Talent Development strategy with a strong focus on early careers pathways (apprenticeships, HLAs, placements, graduates). Responsible for aligning learning initiatives with business objectives, developing structured learning journeys and KPIs, collaborating with industry bodies to create technical and behavioural skills pathways, and managing compliance and funding processes. Own end-to-end early careers programmes, build relationships with academic institutions, monitor progress, deliver monthly KPI dashboards to Directors, and drive improvements in capability, engagement, and retention. Facilitate coaching and leadership development, coordinate in-house training, manage supplier relationships, and ensure mandatory training compliance, while contributing to process improvements through digitalisation and data-driven reporting. Essential Skills include stakeholder management, facilitation and delivery of training, data analysis for programme effectiveness, organisational skills for multi-programme management, and a proactive, collaborative approach. Qualifications include CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) in L&D or HR and relevant degree or professional qualification, with desirable exposure to construction/engineering contexts, funding knowledge, and educator partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or HR with responsibility for designing and delivering development programmes
  • Demonstrable experience managing early careers initiatives (e.g. apprenticeships, graduate schemes, placements, or work experience programmes)
  • Experience designing structured learning journeys and development frameworks
  • Strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks / training pathways (e.g. CITB, further education providers, or equivalent)
  • Experience with Skills for Growth applications and funding procedures
  • Experience working with external training providers, educational institutions, or awarding bodies
  • Experience with ROI pathways as well as NI pathways
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) in Learning & Development or HR
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (or equivalent experience)
