Job Summary
Learning Support Care Assistant at The Orpheus Centre (SEN College in Godstone, Surrey) supporting learners with severe to complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities across a 44-week, term-time schedule. Role involves helping students achieve personal developmental goals, supporting personal care and hygiene, and contributing to education programmes. Requires a minimum of two years’ experience with young people or adults with complex needs, ability to work a rota including early, day, late shifts and some weekends, and to be physically fit for manual handling. 35 hours per week pro rata across 44 weeks; term-time only contract with additional admin/training work as required. Benefits include pension, annual leave, EAP, and safeguarding processes; must be eligible to work in the UK. Desirable experience in further education and working with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of two years’ experience of working with young people or adults with a range of severe, complex and moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities and/or behavioural needs
- experience supporting learners with personal hygiene and intimate care
- ability to cover early, day and late shifts including some weekends
- willingness to work term-time 44 weeks and to flexible nights as required
- physical fitness for manual handling and personal care
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- eligibility to work in the UK
