Job Summary
Meet one-on-one with assigned student-athletes 1-3 times per week to identify individual academic support needs and teach study strategies. Write goal-oriented action plans for academic improvement and monitor at-risk students' progress daily. Teach, model, and demonstrate good academic behaviors while communicating with faculty about student progress. Write weekly academic reports including current grades and missing assignments. Collaborate with mentors, advisors, coaches, and nonacademic staff to create academic support plans and assist with tutor recruitment and training. Attend weekly academic team meetings and complete various projects as assigned by the Director of Olympic Sport Academics. Available 2-3 evenings during the week to work with students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, special education, sociology, or other related field
- 1 year experience in an educational and/or academic support setting
- Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code
- Current temple recommend
- Worthy to hold a current temple recommend
