Job Summary
The Learning Specialist Assistant is a hybrid role that blends direct instructional support with administrative and case-management duties under the Director of Student Support and Wellness. Responsibilities include providing targeted ELA, Mathematics, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) instruction to lower school students, implementing curriculum and lesson plans, differentiating instruction for varied learning profiles, supporting executive functioning and emotional regulation, and collaborating with classroom teachers to reinforce goals and interventions. The role also involves non-teaching duties such as admissions-related tasks and supervising recess and lunch, plus ongoing collaboration with families and colleagues to maintain a warm, structured, and safe learning environment. Strong relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills, comfort with educational technology, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. A Bachelor’s degree is required; experience with elementary-age students and independent school settings is preferred, along with a growth mindset and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
