Job Summary
The Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) is responsible for evaluating, assessing, and managing the educational needs of students with disabilities, ensuring they have equitable access to instruction aligned with IDEA and NJAC 6A:14. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with educators and families, and providing professional development on compliance and interventions. Applicants must hold a New Jersey LDTC Certification, have at least three years of teaching experience, and possess strong skills in data analysis and communication.
Required Qualifications
- New Jersey Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification
- Minimum three (3) years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated student growth in an urban school setting
- Strong knowledge of reading and mathematics interventions
- Deep belief that all students can achieve at high levels
- Strong work ethic, organization, and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience coaching or leading teachers (e.g., grade-level chair, department chair, instructional leader)
- Standard teaching certification (TOSD/TOH)
- Administrative certification (Supervisor, Principal, or Administrator endorsement) in New Jersey or another state
- Experience with special education compliance, IEP development, and case management
- Experience with EdPlan as a special education management system.
