Job Summary
Assess training needs across the organization and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures. Provide ongoing guidance to all departments, interviewing, hiring, training team members, and directing work to achieve guest service and business objectives. Ensure training materials align with Forbes Travel Guide and AAA standards while maintaining compliance with certifications including Sexual Harassment, Food Handler, and GuardCard requirements. Conduct daily audits, facilitate required training sessions, and collaborate with vendors to enhance development plans. Monitor complaints, business flow, and team performance to anticipate issues, guide managers through progressive discipline, and escalate unresolved problems to the Department Head. Maintain effective communication channels through daily updates and property-wide meetings, ensuring new hires meet service standards before going live.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three or more years progressive hotel operations and/or training experience
- Ability to lead others in the department by mentoring and providing training that results in staff that meets/exceeds guest expectations
- Excellent employee relations skills to work with team members and candidates of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds for the purpose of resolving problems and providing a high level of team member satisfaction
- Ability to use mathematics to solve complex problems
- Ability to use computers to record, store and analyze information
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and various HRIS applications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English to understand instructions, safety rules, and communicate with team members
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
- Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in Human Resources Management
- PHR/SPHR certification
- Experience in similar setting
- Paycom experience
- Bilingual Spanish
