Job Summary
Learning Center Aide assists the Principal and Assistant Principal in coordinating the learning center and supporting building activities in line with district requirements and policies. Responsibilities include supervising bus riders and walkers at arrival/dismissal; supervising students during lunch and recess; overseeing the learning center operations; processing library books (stamping and covering); maintaining a schedule of classes using the learning center; supporting students with center-related needs; managing Follett Destiny card catalog/shelf list; coordinating book fairs and sales; tracking overdue books and fines; recommending new titles for purchase; assisting with inquiries by phone; performing student supervision duties beyond the learning center; ensuring the learning center displays are maintained; maintaining inventory of books and supplies; submitting item requests via mini-grants through MEF/PTA when applicable; and performing other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Clear and concise oral and written communication
- Professional and discreet demeanor with students, parents and staff
- Team-oriented, able to work with others
- Ability to learn and use related software and web-based programs
- C(Preferred) Library experience or library-related certificate
- Knowledge of Follett Destiny system (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Physical ability to perform duties including bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing and walking
