Learning and Development Specialist

Job Summary
Design and implement learning and development programs to drive organizational improvement by developing teaching outlines and instructional methods for individual and group learning opportunities. Conduct training sessions for internal and external stakeholders, including new hire orientation, first aid/cpr, and certifications, while delivering synchronous and asynchronous events in virtual and local environments. Perform training needs analyses using the ADDIE methodology to identify competencies and learning objectives, then collaborate with program management teams to address learning needs and track outcomes through data collection. Manage the full training process from scheduling to outcomes, ensuring accountability to department goals and maintaining relationships with subject matter experts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, education, adult learning, or a related human services field
- 3-4 years of Damar/like agency experience
- 2-4 years of professional experience as a facilitator in a Learning and Development / Training capacity
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Software (LMS)
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer Certification
- 1st Aid/CPR Trainer Certification
- Minimum age of 21
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier
- Clear of any felony convictions
- No substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, education, adult learning, or a related human services field preferred
- 3-4 years of Damar/like agency experience may be substituted for education
- 2-4 years of professional experience as a facilitator in a Learning and Development / Training capacity preferred
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Software (LMS) preferred
