Job Summary
Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive learning analytics framework for the Uniformed Services University (USU), including architecture for collecting, normalizing, analyzing, and presenting data on student performance across academic and clinical learning environments. Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and institutional stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights that support instructional improvement, curriculum enhancement, and strategic planning. Integrate data from Admissions, Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Sakai), MedHub, simulation center systems, student portfolios, standardized exams, course evaluation tools, and other relevant systems. Assess and apply technologies and standards such as xAPI, Caliper, Learning Record Stores (LRS), Google BigQuery, and the Total Learning Architecture (TLA). Develop visual analytics dashboards and reports to inform teaching, learning, and student success; translate raw data into insights to support decision-making and planning at the program and institutional level.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Learning Analytics or related field
- Three to five years learning Analytics experience
- Experience in learning analytics, data science, educational technology, or related field with proficiency in data visualization
- Understanding of competency-based assessments, accreditation standards, and educational data mining analytics models
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (Canvas), MedHub, and simulation-based education platforms
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with diverse academic and technical teams; experience in higher education, particularly health sciences or medical education
- Public Trust clearance preferred
- Familiarity with xAPI, Caliper, LRS, and data warehousing solutions such as Google BigQuery
- Google Looker Studio and Google App Script, Python/SQL
