Job Summary
Learner Process Technician role within COFCO International South Africa's SOM Technician Development Programme. The incumbent will monitor and control plant processes, undertake process optimisation, collect data and trends, perform fault finding, and participate in training to develop engineering skills in a manufacturing/plant environment, with mentorship from local and international engineering teams. The programme emphasizes safety, adherence to COFCO policies, and development through practical fieldwork, with a fixed-term 24-month contract in Standerton, SA. The role requires Grade 12 and S4/S5 in related engineering fields, plus WIL confirmation and relevant academic documentation. Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- S4/S5 completed in Chemical or Industrial Engineering (theoretical subjects)
- Proof of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) confirmation from institution
- Proof of qualification (Academic record, Matric Certificate and ID)
- Diploma / BTech / BEng Tech in Chemical or Industrial Engineering (advantageous)
- Experience 1-2 years in soya/sunflower crushing plants or edible oil extraction (advantageous)
- Computer literacy
- Experience with Siemens PCS7 SCADA (advantageous)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management
- Ability to learn quickly and think analytically
