Job Summary
Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods while investigating quality problems and recommending solutions through the CAPA process. Lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, deploying methodologies such as A3 Process, 6S, and Kaizen events to reduce waste and improve productivity. Train production teams in lean initiatives including Kanban and Value Stream Mapping, and develop Value Stream Maps to prioritize waste reduction by return on investment. Utilize Design of Experiments to identify machine setup parameters and capture best practices as Standard Operating Procedures. Collaborate with Maintenance and Production on preventative maintenance recommendations and enhance the Management of Change process. Provide guidance in manufacturing processes, ensure adherence to company procedures, and contribute to team efforts while maintaining professional knowledge through workshops and publications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the packaging industry
- Green Belt Certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) OR process engineering background
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent problem-solving mindset
- Able to read and understand work instructions
- Able to accept verbal direction
- Minimum certification of Lean green belt
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience with effective teams
- Proven experience with continuous improvement methods
