Job Summary
Lean Engineer to deploy Lean methodology and support strategy deployment, training, and continuous improvement at a Wayne, MI facility. Responsibilities include sustaining ABS control room processes, developing and leading Value Stream Mapping activities, and driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation. Requires collaborating with site leadership, training teams in Lean tools (e.g., LDM, 5S, Kaizen), performing data analysis, and facilitating Kaizen events. Expected progression includes defining process capabilities, building a robust Continuous Improvement pipeline, and mentoring teams in Lean methodologies in alignment with Atkore’s ABS objectives. Travel up to 25-65% is anticipated, with onboarding goals within 3 and 6 months and longer-term KPI/TTI dashboard optimization within 12 months. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related fields or work experience
- 3 to 5 years of similar manufacturing experience
- Certified Lean Practitioner or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred
- Proficient in creating and analyzing data; strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to travel 25% to 65% of the time
