Job Summary
Conduct operational inspections, preventive maintenance, and readiness evaluations for military, commercial, and heavy equipment fleets to ensure mission readiness. Lead troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems while directing mechanics and technicians on diagnostics and scheduled services. Oversee corrective maintenance actions, review workmanship for compliance, and coordinate workload planning and resource allocation to meet operational requirements. Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor staff, and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within government systems. Perform road tests and final acceptance inspections to verify repair effectiveness and enforce safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- CDL Class B
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance
- Access to a federal military installation
- REAL ID-compliant driver's license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ID)
- Applicable security clearances
- Installation access
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time
- Ability to climb in and out of a vehicle
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Ability to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications (T Series)
- Additional manufacturer, military vehicle, hydraulic, diesel, or equipment maintenance certifications
- Specialized vocational, technical or other formal training
