Job Summary
Lead and supervise landscaping staff on site while coordinating daily activities, allocating tasks, and monitoring performance to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Manage labour, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines, assist with scheduling and workflow planning, and report progress and site issues to management. Execute landscape construction, planting, and garden establishment works including ground preparation, mulching, and general site duties. Read and interpret landscape plans, train junior team members, and liaise with Site Supervisors and clients. Ensure health and safety requirements are followed at all times. This permanent full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate of $30–$35 per week with minimum guaranteed hours of 30, providing career progression opportunities within The Plant People's growing Canterbury team.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' landscaping experience
- A Level 7 or higher qualification in Management, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- The ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand visa allowing work rights
